There has been an ongoing controversy about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma’s producer Asit Modi a month month when Jennifer Mistry filed a complaint against him for sexual harassment. On the basis of the complaint filed by the show actor, recently Mumbai Police have registered a case against the producer Asit Kumar Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj.
They have registered the First Information Report ( FIR) under sections 354 and 509 ( Assault or criminal force to a woman with an intent of outraging her modesty) of Indian Penal Code. The police, however has not arrested anyone yet.
As per the Mumbai Police, “Powai Police recorded the statement of the actor in connection with her sexual harassment allegations against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi and two other members of the crew. The Police will also summon Asit Kumarr Modi soon for his statement”. Asit Kumar Modi has denied all the allegations as of now. Sohail and Jatin have also rejected the contentions.
Asit Modi in a statement said that “We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations”.
The actor took it to the Instagram and other social media platforms and hinted about this issue six weeks ago.
