As Russia continues threatening the world with the worst military attack of one state on another since World War 2, social media has been one spot where people have been able to express their views, opinions, grief and anger. As Russia invaded Ukraine, a photo of a boy wrapped in Ukrainian flag, embracing a woman wrapped in the Russian flag has gone viral.

Even Indian Politician Shashi Tharoor shared it on his Twitter handle. Other users have also been connecting it to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. However, the truth behind the picture is something else. While the picture looks wholesome and emotional on the first instance, a look closer to the picture starts u folding its truth.

It is actually a three year old picture and is completely unrelated to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. According to the Washington Post, it was taken back in 2014 when the woman in the photograph, Juliana Kuznetsova and her fiance attended a concert in Poland in 2019. Even at that time, tensions had been brewing up between the countries after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2014. The picture was shared on 29 November, 2019 and went viral over social media even then.
